ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect wanted for stabbing a man multiple times during an altercation.
On May 27, 2021, patrol officers responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to speak with a man who walked in with multiple stab wounds. The victim, 28, of Rio Grande, NJ, sustained the stab wounds after becoming involved in a fight in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. An investigation conducted by Detective Dawn Riggs of the Criminal Investigations Section identified Daquan Cook as the person responsible for the stabbing and criminal charges were filed.
On July 2, less than 25 minutes after alerting police officers to Cook’s warrant, Sergeant Richard Andrews located Cook and arrested him without incident.ARRESTED: Daquan Cook, 26, of Atlantic City.CHARGES: Attempted murder, aggravated assault (two counts), unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Cook was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
