Teen crashes truck on Long Beach Island Causeway bridge

MANAHAWKIN, NJ – A teen driving across the Route 72 Causeway Bridge caused a crash that nearly sent one vehicle over the center median.

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:56 AM a motor vehicle accident occurred on the Route 72 Causeway Bridge involving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Jeep Renegade.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was operated by Mallory Roselli, 35 years old of Clinton, New York, and was slowing down for traffic traveling east on the Causeway Bridge. The Jeep Renegade, operated by Karli Ruff, 19 years old of Manahawkin, New Jersey was also traveling east on the Causeway Bridge, and crashed into the rear of Roselli’s Grand Cherokee. After striking the rear of the Grand Cherokee, the Jeep Renegade struck the jersey barrier located in the median of the Causeway, resulting in the vehicle resting on top of the barrier.


There were no reported injuries, and both vehicles were towed from the scene. Traffic was delayed for approximately 30 minutes. Ruff was issued a summons for Careless Driving.
