Mom, Boyfriend killed baby with fentanyl cops say, both now in custody

PORT ORANGE, FL – On January 28, 2021, the Port Orange Police Department began investigating the death of an 11-month-old female. Through further investigation, the child’s cause of death was concluded as Fentanyl toxicity.

An arrest warrant for Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child was issued on July 16, 2021 for Ises Sellers, the child’s mother. Through the assistance of the Volusia Sherriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team, Sellers was taken into custody the same day. Sellers was additionally charged with Possession of Cocaine, Escape, and Resisting without Violence.

On Monday, Sellers’s Boyfriend, Matthew Hamilton, was arrested in Jacksonville with the same charge as Sellers (Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child). Special thanks to Jacksonville Sheriff’s office for their assistance with this arrest.
