Arrest made in D.C. armed carjacking

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announced an arrest has been made in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in the 2500 block of Benning Road, Northeast.

At approximately 5:25 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location.  One of the suspects brandished a handgun and the other suspect demanded the victim’s vehicle keys.  The suspects took property from the victim, including vehicle keys, and then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

On Monday, August 2, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old Jahiem Foster, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
