DeSantis says Biden is America’s biggest importer of COVID-19 as immigrants continue to flow across the border untested

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed President Joe Biden after the President singled out Florida’s latest executive orders banning mask mandates and forced COVID-19 vaccinations.

This week, President Biden said DeSantis wasn’t doing his job as governor to stop the spread of COVID-19 as numbers in Florida continue rising.

“Look, we need leadership from everyone. If some governors aren’t willing to do the right thing to beat this pandemic, then they should allow businesses and universities who want to do the right thing to be able to do it,” Biden said. “I say to these governors please help. But if you are not going to help, at least get out of the way of the people who are trying to do the right thing. Use your power to save lives.”

DeSantis fired back, calling the President America’s biggest importer of COVID-19. While there has been no scientific data to back up DeSantis, the government also does not publicly release COVID-19 data for immigrants who cross the southern border illegally. On multiple occasions reporters have pressed the White House to speak openly about the impact of illegal immigration and COVID-19, simply deferring to canned responses used across all agencies saying Border Patrol agents give migrants PPE and if they are exhibiting symptoms, they are simply passed to local healthcare providers.

“Joe Biden is taken to himself to try to single out Florida over COVID,” Desantis said. “This is a guy who ran for president saying he was going to quote, shut down the virus and what has he done? He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide-open southern border.”

DeSantis said hundreds of thousands of migrants are pouring across the border and they are not being tested for COVID-19, a fact the White House often admits.

“You have hundreds of thousands of people pouring across every month and it’s not just from Mexico. In fact, it’s rarely from Mexico,” DeSantis said. “Not only are they letting them through, but they’re also then farming them out all across our communities across this country putting them on planes putting them on buses.”

The governor told Biden he should do his job and secure the border if he’s concerned about the recent surge in COVID-19 nationwide.

“Why don’t you do your job? Why don’t you get this border secure?” he asked. “Until you do that I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you.”
