Police investigating shooting murder near Downtown Freehold

FREEHOLD BORO, NJ – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just a few blocks away from the bustling downtown center of Freehold. A man, aged 35 was shot and killed in a neighborhood behind the Freehold Muncipal Building, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

“At approximately 5 pm tonight, a shooting in the vicinity of Lloyd Street, Freehold Boro took the life of a 35-year old man,” MCPO said in a statement. “At this time there appears to be no danger to the general public. MCPO and Freehold Boro Police are on the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing.”
