NEW ORLEANS, LA – When you call 911, you usually are in need for police response. Whether you are a victim to a crime, injured or a witness to a crime, your call is usually very important.

Now, it turns out, in New Orleans, a rogue dispatcher had disrupted the 911 service by hanging up on callers and interfering with emergency communications.

The New Orleans Police Department’s Third District detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Precious Stephens (pictured) on charges of malfeasance in office and interfering with emergency communications.

Working as a 911 operator with the Orleans Parish Communications District at the time, she is wanted for allegedly disconnecting 911 calls deliberately without obtaining necessary emergency information or relaying such emergencies to the other dispatchers for aid. The report was taken on August 23, 2021.

Call 504-658-6030 or Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 with any information on Stephens’ whereabouts.
