Portland to ban trade and travel from Texas after abortion ban

PORTLAND, OR – When it comes to Portland’s proposed ban against the state of Texas, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that the hordes of leftists and ANTIFA holed up in Portland won’t be allowed to visit Texas. The bad news is, well, there really isn’t any.

In a ridiculous notion, the Portland City Council will consider an emergency resolution next week to ban future travel, goods and services from the state of Texas until the unconstitutional ban on abortion is withdrawn or overturned in court.

Portland’s progressive Mayor Wheeler announced today that the Portland City Council will vote on an emergency resolution next Wednesday, September 8th, with the intent to ban the City’s future procurement of goods and services from, and city employee business travel to, the state of Texas.

The ban is anticipated to affect absolutely nobody.

The ban will be in effect until the state of Texas withdraws its unconstitutional ban on abortion or until it is overturned in court. City legal counsel is currently evaluating the legal aspects of this proposed resolution. The Portland City Council stands unified in its belief that all people should have the right to choose if and when they carry a pregnancy and that the decisions they make are complex, difficult, and unique to their circumstances.

The left has gone off the edge. Now, mayors are making interstate ‘foreign policy’ decisions that quite frankly are well above their pay grade.
