STUART, FL – The search for a missing 23-year-old woman ended in tragedy today after a missing person bulletin was issued this week after her disappearance.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office asked the public to help locate 23-year old Perrin Damron on Sunday after she was last seen Friday evening in the Manatee Creek Community where she lived.

Damron was scheduled to meet up with a friend on Saturday but did not show up. Her family said that is unlike her. Her vehicle was found earlier by police.

On Monday, the MCSO reported Damron’s body was recovered in a canal in Indiantown.

“Her death is being treated as a homicide and an arrest has been made in the case,” the MCSO said. “This investigation is still very active and information is still being processed. We would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming expression of support and prayers for the safe recovery of Ms. Damron, Unfortunately, this case did not end as we all had hoped.”

Police eventually charged a Jupiter man for her murder.

The suspect charged was identified as 45-year old Eric William Westerguard of Jupiter. Westerguard has been charged with First Degree Murder-Premeditated. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
