TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy is once again digging into the archives to produce his daily COVID-19 death announcements. On Wednesday, when reading off names he described as “Newly reported COVID-19 deaths”, he read off the name of Harold Louis Eisen of Manalapan.
“And here are the newly confirmed deaths being reported today. Bless each and every one of them. I want to ask you to bear with us as we take a few moments to memorialize several more of those that we have lost to the pandemic,” Murphy said. “We’ll start with this guy, Manalapan’s Harold Eisen. That’s Harold on the right, he was 83 years old. He was a native of Newark, a graduate of Weequahic High School and Seton Hall University. Military Service took him and his wife Peggy, that’s in the left, to Colorado for a time. And his career provided a short detour to Syracuse, New York, but they found their way back to New Jersey in 1974 settling in Manalapan.”
According to Mr. Eisen’s obituary, he passed away at the age of 83 on November 19, 2020.
The next two ‘newly confirmed’ deaths reported by Murphy were in February of 2021, the other in January.
