Three Lake Charles Men Sentenced for Crimes Involving Firearms

LAFAYETTE, La. – Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced that three defendants have been sentenced today in federal court. United States District Judge James D. Cain, Jr. sentenced the following three defendants for being convicted felons in possession of a firearm:

The ATF, Lake Charles Police Department and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted these investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Craig R. Bordelon, Danny Siefker, and Daniel J. Vermaelen prosecuted the cases.

These cases are part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. PSN is part of the Department’s renewed focus on targeting violent criminals, directing all U.S. Attorney’s Offices to work in partnership with federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement and the local community to develop effective, locally-based strategies to reduce violent crime.
