Baltimore woman charged for murdering her mother, shooting her multiple times

BALTIMORE, MD – On August 16, 2021, at approximately 10:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Washington Boulevard to investigate a report of gunfire heard in the area. When officers arrived at the location they discovered 48-year-old Sherry Birmingham laying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Homicide investigators were summoned to the scene and assumed control over the investigation. Through the course of their investigation detectives were able to identify a suspect and obtain an arrest warrant.

On September 10, 2021, 31-year-old Toni Arnold was arrested and formally charged with the 1st Degree Murder of her mother, Sherry Birmingham.


Arnold is currently being held at Central Booking.
