PALM HARBOR, FLORIDA – Around 3:19 am this morning PHFR responded to a reported vehicle crash in the NB lanes of US19 and Innisbrook Dr. Almost immediately after arriving on scene a PHFR female Lt. was struck by a silver GMC Denali pickup truck.
Crews immediately began working a trauma alert on our own and other units were dispatched to the scene for the original incident. The driver of the GMC was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The other two drivers of the original crash were reported as having non life-threatening injuries and one female was transported by ground.
Our Lt. was transported by ground to a local hospital and she remains in critical but stable condition. FHP is on scene investigating and all NB lanes on US 19 between Colonial and Innisbrook Dr. will be closed for several hours.
