Sheridan Wahl, 21 was supposed to travel from Florida to visit her father in Myrtle Beach last weekend but she never arrived causing concern for her family. The family alerted the Myrtle Beach Police Department and reported her as missing.
“The Myrtle Beach Police Department opened an investigation into a missing person, Sheridan Wahl on Sunday, September 19,” the Department said. “During the ongoing investigation on Monday, September 20, it was determined that Wahl had left our jurisdiction safely. At that time, MBPD requested the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Divison to investigate the missing person case as they have state-wide jurisdiction and authority throughout the state of South Carolina.
“Please help me find my daughter. Last seen at 300 S. Ocean in Myrtle Beach. We haven’t heard from her since 1p and her phone is not picking up,” her mother Kelly DeArment Wahl posted on September 20th. “She could have been driving back from Myrtle Beach to Tampa. Let let me know if anyone has seen her. Otherwise please pray she comes home to us safely!”
Her body was found Monday behind a fire station in Pamplico, located one hour west of Myrtle Beach. Her car was found burned and abandoned in a ditch 10 miles away.
“We are heartbroken beyond belief to share the news that our beloved Sheridan Lynne Wahl has passed. Sheridan was our cherished and loving daughter, sister, niece and friend. She will be missed more than words can ever express,” her mom wrote. “Please note that the case has yet to be closed – and details have not been confirmed. A full statement will be released pending more information. In the meantime, the family graciously requests that their privacy be respected and deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support from all.”
