Charges filed in Jahmil Greenidge murder case

MAYS LANDING—In a cooperative investigation, with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, two men were arrested Tuesday, Oct. 12, and charged in connection to the May 19th, fatal shooting of Jahmil Greenidge in Atlantic City, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

Denzel Garrison, 28, of Newark, was arrested in Newark by the Newark Police Department and charged with the following offenses:

·         1st degree Murder


·         1st degree Conspiracy

·         2nd degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose

·         2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Laquine Demby, 30, of Pleasantville, was arrested in Pleasantville by detectives of the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and officers of the Pleasantville Police Department and is charged with the following offenses:

·         1st degree Murder

·         1st degree Conspiracy

Demby and Garrison were processed and lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

investigation that has led to the apprehensions of Denzel Garrison and Laquine Demby. These defendants have now been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Jahmil Greenidge,” Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said.

At 8:00 a.m., on May 19, 2021, Atlantic City Police officers responded to a 911 call for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the 300 block of North Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City they located Jahmil Greenidge, 28, with a gunshot wound. Greenidge was pronounced deceased at the scene.
