BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – At about 11:05 PM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force along with members of the Massachusetts State Police made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of 39 Old Colony Avenue in South Boston.
Officers were on patrol in the area of W 7th Street and Joyce Hayes Way when they observed vehicle #1 with extremely dark tinted windows and vehicle #2 trailing closely behind. Officers conducted CJIS inquiries on both vehicles and it was revealed that the license plate on vehicle #2 came back reported stolen. Officers conducted a traffic stop of both vehicles and made contact with all occupants.
Officer observed the front passenger, later identified as Oscar Nadal, 19, of South Boston, lean forward multiple times while reaching towards the front of his waist band. Officers safely removed all occupants including Jadhen Rousseau, 18, and Wellington Arias, 19, both South Boston and recovered four firearms from the scene.
The first firearm was removed from Oscar Nadal’s waistband and was determined to be a loaded Glock 19, with one round in the chamber and thirty rounds in an extended magazine.
The second firearm was located in the rear pocket of the passenger seat and was determined to be a Glock 17 with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine. The firearm was affixed with a laser attachment. In addition, officers recovered two Glock 43’s located under the driver’s seat, both loaded with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.
Oscar Nadal was charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
Jadhen Rousseau was charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Wellington Arias was charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. All three suspects are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court. See Less
