Pinetops man charged for child pornography

PINETOPS, NC – On October 8, 2021 Detective Sgt. Tinder with the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the NC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force in reference to possession of child pornography. The case was opened and investigated.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect possessed five images/videos of child pornography which he downloaded from the internet. The suspect was arrested on October 13, 2021, and charged with five counts of 2nd Degree Exploitation of a Minor.

He was placed into the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond. The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office continues to actively investigate ICAC cases, charging and arresting in all cases where possible. We are grateful to be a partner agency with the NC ICAC taskforce to investigate these cases in Edgecombe County.


The suspect was identified as Braxton A. Perry, of Pinetops.
