San Diego’s Ghost Gun Team Arrest 3 And Recover 45 Firearms

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – 3 men were arrested and 45 firearms were recovered during an operation led by the department’s Ghost Gun Apprehension Team. The team served three residential search warrants and one search warrant at a local business.

Investigators recovered 14 polymer unserialized (ghost) handguns, 14 unserialized (ghost) assault weapons, 13 handguns, 4 assault weapons, body armor, a 3D printer, high capacity and drum-style magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and approximately $90,000 in cash.⠀ ⠀

The suspects were arrested for various weapons charges, including unlawfully manufacturing firearms, selling firearms without a license, and violation of assault weapons laws.⠀ ⠀The San Diego Police Department’s Ghost Gun Apprehension Team was formed in July to prevent and investigate crimes involving the use of unserialized ghost guns. SDPD has recovered 386 ghost guns since January 1, 2021.⠀
