Don’t be an easy victim. Lacey police warning resident to lock their car doors at night

LACEY TWP, NJ – The Lacey Township Police Department and Chief Michael DiBella are advising residents to lock their car doors at night as an uptick in vehicle thefts and break-ins have been occurring.

“The Lacey Township Police Department is asking our community to please ensure that your vehicles are locked when not occupied, especially during the overnight hours. Additionally, please ensure you do not leave your car keys/key fobs inside of your vehicle,” DiBella said. “Valuables should not be left inside your vehicles, or they should not be visible to the public.”

New Jersey has been experiencing motor vehicle thefts/burglaries up and down the state, primarily in the coastal communities, including here in Ocean County. Most, if not all of these stolen vehicles, were left unlocked with the keys/key fobs inside.
