New Jersey child predator who attacked 7-year-old girl extradited after fleeing to Columbia

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, Colombian law enforcement, in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service Colombia Foreign Field Office and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (Hudson County Team) brought into custody a Jersey City man who was wanted on charges that he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl last month in Jersey City.

Abel Ore-Guzman, age 63, who was transported to the United States and arrested at Newark International Airport on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at approximately 3:45 p.m., has been charged with Sexual Assault by Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2B, a crime of the second degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A, a crime of the third degree; and Attempting to Lure or Entice a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:13-6, a crime of the second degree. The alleged assaults occurred in late October while the defendant was renting a room in the victim’s family’s home.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims, the Jersey City Police Department, Colombian law enforcement and the United States Marshals Service with the investigation and arrest.
