ALBANY, NY – A 23-year-old Albany man who seriously injured his father during a domestic related incident this morning on Orange Street has been charged with attempted murder.

Gerald Fraser was arrested following an investigation by members of the Albany Police Department.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 around 6:50 a.m., officers responded to a home on Orange Street between Chapel Street and Theatre Row for reports of a domestic related incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 61-year-old male with a large laceration to his head and several other injuries to his body.

Fraser also doused his father with rubbing alcohol in an attempt to set him on fire and stabbed him in both him arm and leg with a screwdriver.

His mother was not injured during the incident.
