Buffalo man arraigned for November murder of Bashir Ingram

BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 30-year-old Steven L. Tyler of Buffalo was arraigned this afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge Kevin J. Keane on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I”) felony.

It is alleged that on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim outside of a residence on Keppel Street in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 30-year-old Bashir Ingram, was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Tyler is scheduled to return on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.


If convicted of the charge, Tyler faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Morgan of the Homicide Bureau. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
