Deputies arrest man for SunTrust Bank robbery

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – On January 14, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m. a male suspect entered the SunTrust Bank located at 12902 N Dale Mabry Highway. The male suspect pointed a firearm at a bank teller and demanded cash. The teller provided an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot, westbound through the parking lot.

Upon issuing the alert last week, HCSO received a tip. Detectives followed up on the tip and were able to positively identify the suspect as John Charles Anderson DOB 07/21/83. Anderson was also positively identified by family/friends as the subject in the alert.

​Anderson’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Anderson previously served time for another bank robbery in another state. The FBI currently has a federal warrant for his arrest and is searching for Anderson.
