Jacksonville murder suspect arrested

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Jacksonville Police have announced the arrest of a male suspect wanted for murder this past Sunday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported on Sunday, February 13, 2022 shortly after 9:00 a.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call and responded to the report of gunshots in the 2000 block of Monteau Drive. Upon their arrival, officers located the 49-year-old white male victim lying just inside of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The Homicide and Crime Scene Units were notified and responded to the scene to begin their respective investigations. Through investigative efforts, a person of interest was identified early on. After further information was gathered and evidence collected, detectives were able to positively identify the suspect involved in the shooting as Christopher Lee Thompson (White/Male 47).

A search for the suspect began, and he was ultimately located and taken into custody without further incident. Following an interview, the suspect was subsequently arrested for the murder of the victim.
