Brick Police Department Continues Anti-Drug Enforcement with More Arrests

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Brick Township Police Department is continuing its multi-year effort to contain the spread and use of drugs throughout the community announcing five more arrests between Monday, February 14th, and Thursday the 17th.

Detectives from the SCU made five arrests resulting in multiple charges for drug related offenses.

The Brick Township Police Department reported the following incidents:


On Monday night, at approximately 10:00 PM, Detectives observed a suspicious male from Cliffside Park in the area of the Sweet Green Food Market and the Wine Shoppe on Hooper Avenue. An investigation resulted in an arrest for loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance. He was released on a summons.

On Tuesday, February 15th, at approximately 6:00 PM, Detectives observed a hand-to-hand transaction in the Maple Leaf Condominium Complex. A subsequent vehicle stop and investigation led to the arrest of a 31-year-old Brick Township man on charges of loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance and a 36-year-old man from Brick on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were released on summonses.

On Thursday, February 17th, at approximately 1:30 PM, Detectives observed suspicious activity in the parking lot of the Santander Bank on Beaverson Blvd. The vehicle they were observing had several equipment violations and the passenger was littering out the window. The vehicle pulled out of the parking lot and Sgt. John Gordon stopped it. Detectives had Ocean County Sheriff’s K9 Officer Vosseller and his partner Duke respond to assist with the investigation, which resulted in the discovery and seizure of heroin, Suboxone, crack, methamphetamines, black tar heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Some of the substances were packaged for resale.

The driver, a 32-year-old Point Pleasant Boro man was charged with possession of heroin, suboxone, crack, methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and motor vehicle summonses. He was issued a warrant and lodged in Ocean County Jail.

The passenger, a 49-year-old man from Barnegat was charged with possession of heroin, suboxone, crack, methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and littering. He was issued a warrant and lodged in Ocean County Jail.
