Memphis Murder Suspect Arrested in Mississippi by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Memphis, TN
– U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the arrest
of Nicholas Anderson for First Degree Murder.

On April 5, 2021
Javarie Mays, was found shot to death in a residence at the 1110 block
of Railton Rd. Memphis, Tennessee. Later that day a First Degree Murder
warrant was issued for the arrest of Nicholas Anderson for this crime.
In addition to First Degree Murder, a warrant was issued for Especially
Aggravated Kidnapping.

The case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals
Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Memphis office. Investigators
with the task force tracked Anderson to a location in Indianola,
Mississippi. Coordinating with the Marshals Task Force in Oxford,
Mississippi, Anderson was located and taken into custody without
incident.


“Cooperation and mutual support across state lines is
a hallmark of the Marshals Task Force system,” said U. S. Marshal
Tyreece Miller. “It enabled a safe and swift resolution to this fugitive
matter.”

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task
Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama,
Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF
has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily
composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies,
Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson
Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special
Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent
offenders and sexual predators.
