Columbus, OH
– United States Marshal Peter Tobin is pleased to
announce that Juan McConnell was arrested March 31, 2021 in Columbus,
OH. McConnell was wanted by the Zanesville Police Department on a
warrant issued March 5, 2021 from the Zanesville Municipal Court
charging McConnell for Attempted Murder, Felonious Assault, Discharging
a Firearm into a Habitation, and Discharging a Firearm over a Roadway.
These charges stem from a firearm assault occurring on March 1, 2021,
where McConnell allegedly used a semi-auto rifle to assault a victim
from long range in the Zanesville area. McConnell has prior felony court
convictions and is not legally able to possess a firearm.

The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike
Team (SOFAST) adopted the fugitive investigation on March 5, 2021 at the
request of the Zanesville Police Department. Zanesville Police
investigators and SOFAST arrested McConnell in the 3400 block of
Cleveland Ave in Columbus, Ohio after McConnell refused to comply with a
court issued arrest warrant. McConnell was then transported to the
Franklin County Jail by investigators.
