Harrisburg, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced the arrest of Ethan Shane Williams, a 21-year old man with
past addresses in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
On December 27, 2020,
the Johnstown Police Department (Cambria County) investigated a shooting
at the intersection of Cedar and Wood Streets. As a result of their
investigation detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Williams
with Aggravated Assault and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find
Williams were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive
Task Force was asked to apprehend him.
Yesterday, at about 2
p.m., members of the fugitive task force checked a home in the 300 block
of South River Road in Halifax, Dauphin county and arrested Williams
without incident. He was returned to Cambria County for booking and
arraignment.
U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said, “The U.S. Marshals
Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with violent
crimes to justice and we give these types of cases our utmost attention.
It is my hope that the community will find comfort knowing the alleged
attacker will face justice.”
The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the
Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and
local police agencies, including: the Harrisburg Bureau of Police; the
Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and
Parole; the Lower Paxton Township Police Department; the Swatara
Township Police Department; the Derry Township Police Department; the
Dauphin County Adult Probation Office; and the Dauphin County Work
Release Center – all of whom participated in this arrest.
