Pedestrian struck Friday night in Gloucester Township in critical condition

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A pedestrian was struck Friday evening in the area of Erial Road and Garwood Road, according to the Gloucester Township Police Department.

The crash happened at around 7:10 pm. The Gloucester Township Police Department said upon the arrival of offices, a pedestrian was located in the middle of the roadway suffering from serious bodily injuries.

“The striking vehicle and driver remained on location. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The pedestrian was evaluated and transported to Cooper Hospital, Trauma Unit, in Camden, NJ by Inspira Ambulance,” GTPD said in a statement. “Erial Road between Garwood Road and Hickstown Road was closed for several hours during the initial stages of the investigation. The investigation is being conducted by the Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT). Gloucester Twp. Fire Departments assisted at the crash scene.”


At this time the names of all involved are being withheld pending notifications and further investigation.
