Utica Man Charged for Beating Victim, Vehicle with Pipe

UTICA, NY – A Utica man has been arrested and charged for assaulting a male victim with a metal pipe.

Police said at approximately 11:20 AM on Friday officers were dispatched to an address on the 1400 block of Erie St regarding a fight and Criminal Mischief Investigation.

“Upon arrival, it was learned that a male, Cesar Reyes, age 29 of Utica, had to come to the residence and began to damage the victim’s vehicle, smashing the windshield, windows, and lights.,” the Utica Police Department said. “After some time, the suspect approached the victim and repeatedly struck him in the head, arms, and body with a metal pipe, until which time others intervened, and the male fled the location.”


Sometime later, investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division contacted the suspect, and he turned himself into the Utica Police Department.
