Suspect Wanted for Breaking Window, Robbing Vehicle in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department is seeking the public’s help with identifying a suspect in connection with a theft from an automobile on Sunday.

“Police responded to the incident, which occurred around 12 a.m. at Branford Place and Washington Street,” said Newark Director of Public Safety Brian O’Hara. “Upon arrival, the victim told officers he parked his vehicle at that downtown location around midnight. When he returned at 1:15 a.m., the vehicle’s rear window was broken and computer and electronic equipment was missing from the back seat.”

Director O’Hara urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
