ESOPUS, NY – Several people were injured after a vehicle flew into the air after a head on collision with another vehicle that the New York State Police had stopped.

“On April 1, 2020, New York State Troopers stopped a vehicle on State Route 9W in the town of Esopus. A vehicle traveling northbound crossed over into the southbound lane and struck the stopped vehicle head on, causing the vehicle that crossed over to go airborne and land on the front of the troop car and coming to rest next to the troop car,” the NY State Police said. “The occupants of the troop car, a Field Training Officer, and two new recruit troopers on their first day on the job after graduating the academy suffered minor injuries. There were no life-threatening injuries to the occupants of the other two vehicles.”
