CBP Officers Nab Man Wanted for Homicide

EL PASO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers at the Bridge of the Americas Border Crossing apprehended a man with an outstanding warrant for homicide out of the Edgewater, Colorado Police Department.

 On April 6, CBP Officers encountered a 30-year-old male U.S. citizen via vehicle who applied for entry from Mexico. Primary system queries by CBP Officers, revealed an outstanding warrant for homicide. The individual was secured and escorted to secondary for further inspection. A secondary inspection was conducted utilizing biometric verification which confirmed his identity along with the active warrant for homicide out of the Edgewater, Colorado Police Department.

 “CBP officers are vigilant and constantly working to protect our nation from a wide variety of threats,” said Director Field Operations Hector A. Mancha. “This significant arrest highlights the important role CBP plays in safeguarding communities across our nation.”


 The man was arrested by CBP officers and turned over to local authorities pending extradition to the originating agency.
