DIX HILLS, NY – In a gesture of community caring, the Suffolk County Police Department and Bikes for America teamed up to give a Dix Hills girl a new set of wheels.

“Highway Patrol Lt. Thomas Paolicelli, along with Second Precinct Community Liaison Officer Claudia Delgado, recently gifted a brand new bicycle to Sara Sikorsky, the nine-year-old sister of Dana Sikorsky, a local child who sustained a serious brain injury after a near-fatal drowning in 2018,” police said today. “The new ride was given to Sara in advance for the upcoming annual Drive For Dana Car & Trunk Show at Miller’s Ale House in Lake Grove on May 15. Three other bikes were donated for the event, as well as other prizes.”
