TRENTON, NJ – The Trenton, New Jersey Police Department is proud to name Officer D. Tosado, Officer P. McGill, and Officer M. Hamilton as their Officers of the week.

On November 10, 2021, Officer D. Tosado, Officer P. McGill, and Officer M. Hamilton responded to a call where the suspect was smashing car windows with a gun. When they arrived they observed the suspect standing in front of 323 Academy Street, matching the exact description provided by the caller and with a Semi-Automatic 12 Gauge Shotgun leaning against the fence next to him. At gunpoint, the officers ordered the suspect to not reach for the Semi-Automatic 12 Gauge Shotgun and to show them his hands. After several minutes the officers were able to de-escalate the situation, calm the suspect down, and managed to have the suspect walk away from the Semi-Automatic 12 Gauge Shotgun. The suspect walked toward the officers and was handcuffed without further incident.

The Officer’s instincts and training lead to the arrest of the suspect.

We’re proud to recognize Officer Tosado, Officer McGill, and Officer Hamilton as the Trenton, New Jersey Police Department’s inaugural Officers of the Week.
