Police K-9 Helps Middletown Kid Find Lost Cell Phone

MIDDLETOWN, DE – When your phone doesn’t have the “Find my” app or the batteries have gone dead and you lost, now you can turn to “Sniff My Phone”.

That’s after a police K-9 in Middletown, Delaware was put to the task of finding a kid’s lost phone.

According to the Middletown Police Department, On Wednesday, K-9 Ranger used his nose to find a lost cell phone. A juvenile lost his phone while exploring a wooded area near Longmeadow. As a last resort, MPD was asked to assist in finding the phone.”


Police said Ranger conducted a lengthy article search, in the area the phone was lost and found it. The phone was returned to the owner, who was nice enough to let Ranger “pose” with it near his vehicle.

“Amazingly, the phone was lost nearly 72 hours before the search, demonstrating the awesome ability of a K-9 to detect a human odor,” the police said.
