COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Department responded to an incident early this morning on Tussing Drive involving a man armed with a shotgun, who fired at another person.

According to the Columbus Police Department, at 3:10 a.m., officers responded to the 6700 block of Tussing Road on a report of shots fired into a residence.

“Upon arrival, officers made contact with a victim who stated he was just leaving a friend’s apartment, when the neighbor started arguing with him,” police said in a report. “The victim stated that the neighbor was intoxicated and had a shotgun. He stated that he saw the neighbor with the shotgun and proceeded to walk away.”

As the victim was walking away, walking backward to keep an eye on the neighbor, the neighbor fired a single gunshot at him.

Police said the victim began running back toward his apartment to get away from the drunken neighbor shooting at him and heard three more shots fired as he was being chased. One of those shots struck him in the chest. Police said the shots struck a nearby apartment as well.

The victim was grazed by a pellet from the gun’s buckshot and refused medical treatment.

At this time, police have not identified a suspect or announced an arrest in the matter.
