CHERRY HILL, NJ – A 22-year-old Camden County Police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday night in Cherry Hill, police confirmed this week. Officer Daniel Adler was involved in a motorcycle crash on Route 561, just short of two months after being sworn in as a police officer.

“It is with profound sadness that we regret to announce the sudden passing of our very own Officer Daniel Adler,” the department said in a statement. “Daniel was a devoted collegue, friend, and family member who will be forever missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Officer Adler, as well as our brothers and sisters at CCPD. Daniel, we thank you for your service and may you Rest In Peace.”

“This horrific event and sudden loss is something that all of us in the county and the city are grappling with today. Anytime our community loses someone so young it’s tragedy, but knowing that this young man had dedicated his life and career to helping others with our department is a gut punch,” County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “We will be keeping the family in our prayers and doing whatever we can to help them through what can only be described as the most difficult period of time any parent can go through.”
