Storm Alert: Showers and Thunderstorms to Pass Through the Jersey Shore Monday Afternoon

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A passing storm system is expected to create patchy fog and deliver heavy rains on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, the chance of precipitation is 80%.

“A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Patchy fog before 8 am. High near 77. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%,” the NWS said. “New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”

Monday night will lead to more passing showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 pm. Lows will be around 55. West winds 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms
