JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – An 11-year-old girl was killed in a go-kart crash in Jackson after the vehicle she was driving hit a stump and flipped over near Parkside Drive on May 15th.

The incident happened at around 3:40 pm when Nicole Galarza Murillo was killed in the crash due to head trauma. She was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for related expenses.

“Nicole was involved in a horrible accident on Sunday, May 15, 2022, resulting in her death. On this particular Sunday, eleven-year-old Nicole spent the day riding ATVs and go-karts with her family, enjoying the beautiful weather and having a great time,” the GoFundMe page says. “Tragedy occurred when the go kart she was riding in flipped over and struck her in the head. She was immediately airlifted to the ICU unit at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Nicole donated her organs and tissue to NJ Sharing Network to help save the lives of others. She grew her hair in hopes to donate it to a child with cancer. Her mother was able to fulfill Nicole’s dream and cut her hair to donate her hair as well.”
