BRENTWOOD, NY – A father and son had an unpleasant encounter with police after riding their ATVs illegally on public streets. Two ATVs were impounded last Saturday after a father and his son were operating them on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood.

“The riding of ATVs on public roadways is illegal and it’s an issue that impacts many communities with residents making complaints of noise, property damage and unsafe roadway/sidewalk traffic,” Suffolk County Police said afterward. “The department recently unveiled a seven-point plan to enhance the department’s efforts to crackdown on illegal ATV and dirt bike operation throughout the county and this seizure is part of the crackdown.”

Crime Stoppers is also offering a Fast Cash Reward of $100 for information that leads to an ATV being impounded. Fast Cash Rewards are issued within 72 hours. If you have a tip, call 1-800-220-TIPS.
