Over 30 Shore Police Departments Join Together to Support Boy With Cancer, Honorary Office 500 Times Over

ABSECON, NJ (PRESS RELEASE) – On Friday May 27th, the Absecon Police Department and over 30 other Law Enforcement agencies from Atlantic and Cape May counties welcomed Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel at the Ocean City Music Pier.

DJ was sworn in as an Honorary Absecon Police Officer and presented with his own badge, hat and police identification.

DJ,10 years old, resides in Houston Texas and is battling ependymoma brain and spine cancer. To bring awareness to his diagnosis he has been traveling across the nation on a mission to be sworn into as many police agencies as possible. DJ’s original goal was to be sworn into 100 Law Enforcement organizations. As of Friday, he has now been sworn into over 500.


DJ was in great spirits and showed his charismatic personality as he took the oath of office. We are very lucky to have DJ in our law enforcement family.
