Couple Arrested for April Robbery of Wilmington Family Dollar

WILMINGTON, DE – A couple wanted for the robbery of a Wilmington Family Dollar store on Kirkwood Highway in April have been arrested, police reported Thursday.


Larisha Banner, 39, and Demetrius Banks, 25, have now both been arrested after Banner’s arrest on May 5th. On Tuesday, Banks was located by Wilmington police officers and taken into custody without incident.

According to police,, on April 26th, at approximately 6:06 p.m., troopers responded to the Family Dollar located at 2021 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, for a reported robbery.


“The investigation determined three subjects entered the business and attempted to remove merchandise without paying. When store employees confronted the subjects, a physical altercation ensued which resulted in two employees sustaining minor injuries. The three suspects then fled the area. The victims refused medical treatment at the scene,” The Delaware State Police said. “Through investigative means troopers identified two of the suspects as Larisha Banner and Demetrius Banks and obtained warrants for their arrest.”
