BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting which took place at a Metro PCS Store yesterday. This incident happened on the 5400 Block of Sinclair Lane in Northeast Baltimore.

According to police, “At approximately 1:39 p.m., officers responded to the Metro PCS Store located in the 5400 block of Sinclair Lane for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two people who were suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to area hospitals where they are currently being treated. Northeast District shooting detectives responded and are investigating this incident.”

Initial investigation revealed that a customer went into the Metro PCS Store and after asking for help, was advised the store clerk wouldn’t be able to help him. He left the store and returned shortly after with a handgun, announcing a robbery. A store employee tried to wrestle the gun from the suspect, and at that point the gun fired and the employee was struck in the leg.

When the handgun dropped to the floor that same employee shot the suspect in the abdomen and the police were promptly called.

This investigation remains under investigation. The suspect will be being charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Reckless Endangerment, and other handgun violations after he is released from the hospital.
