ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Howard County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a white Jeep Wrangler identified in a fatal hit and run that took place on Sunday. The vehicle could be showing damage caused by the crash.

Body shops in the area should also be on the alert for a white Jeep Wrangler with repairs needed to its front end. Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

On Sunday, the body of Michael Kevin Fitzpatrick, 54, was found by a passerby on the side of Old Frederick Road (Route 99) near Weatherstone Drive around 8 a.m. on Monday, June 6. Investigators believe Fitzpatrick was walking alongside or in the travel portion of the roadway when he was struck.

Police obtained video from a nearby residence that showed a white Jeep Wrangler near the scene. They also located a piece of the Jeep’s white fender nearby and expect that the vehicle has front-end damage, likely on the passenger’s side.
