Weed Odor Leads Police to Crack, Oxy Bust

BROOKLYN, MD – An Anne Arundel County police officer led by the scent of marijuana during a traffic stop ended up arresting Morgan Powell, 26, of Baltimore, and Garry Morris, 20, of Ellicott City, on various drug charges.

According to police, on Thursday, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of Belle Grove Road and 10th Avenue in Brooklyn.

“Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers discovered that the driver was wanted in Baltimore County on an outstanding warrant,” police said. “During the subsequent search of the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 5 grams of suspected heroin, 30 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 2 grams of suspected Oxycodone, and $963.00 in U.S. currency. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged accordingly.”
