DOVER, DE – You might hear the loud engine roars of Blackhawk helicopters and other military aircraft tonight around the city of Dover. The Delaware National Guard will be performing nighttime training operations at the State Fire School in Dover between 6 pm and 11 pm tonight.

There is no emergency or secret military operation going on; it’s just a routine training exercise for Delaware’s citizen soldiers.

“This training is essential to assure in the times of an emergency they can quickly and safely assist victims of natural disasters,” the Delaware State Police said. “During these hours there will be several helicopters performing multiple evolutions, and it will be noisy. We apologize for any inconvenience while they perform their training exercises.”
