Newark Gas Station Attendant Beaten, Robbed

NEWARK, NJ – A gas station clerk at the Millennium Gas Station on Bloomfield Avenue was just trying to make it to the end of his shift Wednesday morning when he was assaulted and robbed by an unknown assailant.

Today, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect, who robbed that unsuspecting attendant earlier this week.

O’Hara said Newark police officers responded to a report about a robbery that occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the Millennium Gas Station, located in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue.


“The suspect, captured on surveillance video, entered the business and pushed the gas station attendant to the ground and punched him several times in the face before going through his pockets and taking $200,” O’Hara said. “The suspect is described as a 5’8” Black male with a thin build. He was wearing all black clothing, including a mask, and white socks. He was last seen running eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue and northbound on Summer Avenue.”
