CAPE MAY, NJ – Cape May County residents came together to celebrate Juneteenth at the Whitesboro based Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
“This past weekend, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and Hope One Cape May County participated in a celebration of Freedom hosted by the Cape May County NAACP,” the county reported.
The event, held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Whitesboro, NJ, welcomed several local vendors and other non-profit and community organizations including Cape Assist, Coalition Against Rape and Abuse, Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro, Southern New Jersey Buffalo Soldiers, One Stop Career Center, Caring for Kids, No Limits Boxing Academy as well as the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department, Middle Township Police Department’s Community Outreach Team and Atlantic Cape Community College. The event also welcomed as guest speaker, a member of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Social Justice Advocates, Mr. Jonathan G. Green, Lead Mediator from the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights. What a great day of fun and games for the kids, and good food, good music and words enlightenment and encouragement.
