Paterson Weekend Murder Suspect Arrested

Paterson, NJ – A Paterson man, Trayshaun Harris, 29, was arrested on Sunday in connection to a murder in the city on Saturday.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced that at approximately 5:06 a.m. on Saturday, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 34-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim was shot in the area of Pearl Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson.

The victim was identified as Tiheen Smith, who had a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He later died at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
